Yesterday the great British Public, in all its infinite wisdom, did something incredibly stupid. They voted to leave the European Union by 51.9% to 48.1%.

I think this was an incredibly stupid thing to do, and it's going to cause an unknowable amount of damage to our country.

After spending most of the day in a state of shock, I decided to keep a diary of what I see happening as this story unfolds.

Update: Just to be clear, this is a personal diary so it's not going to be editorially balance. It's a recording of the things that crossed my radar. The major stuff is going to be the same as everyone else's, but the minor stuff will probably be different.

For the record, I voted to Remain because I genuine believed it was the best thing for us to do.

On a personal note, I really, really hope this isn't going to be as bad as I think it's going to be because I really like this country and I don't want to see it destroyed. On a selfish note, I also don't want to see my current life destroyed either.

Time will tell …
